Positive Feedback from EV Owners

Brilliant news for EV owners! The results from this year’s Driver Power car ownership survey are in, and Fleet Evolution, one of the UK’s premier providers of salary sacrifice vehicles, has welcomed the news that ecofriendly vehicles have dominated the survey results, with a fully-electric vehicle taking the top spot, and a total of six electric and hybrid vehicles appearing in the top ten.

The all-electric Tesla Model S was crowned the champion, with an astonishing 97.46% – the highest ever satisfaction rating. Gaining full marks in seven of the 10 categories, including performance, road handling and of course running costs, the vehicle blew its competition out of the water. The all-electric hatch, the Renault Zoe came second scoring 93.57% with hybrids such as the Lexus IS MK3 and the Lexus GS mk4 appearing in the top ten.

The increasing network of rapid-charging points, along with the extensive development in technology and the significant reduction in running costs has encouraged more and more people to invest in electric vehicles. Raising the bar for traditional vehicles to follow, this just highlights how valued they are by their owners and shows that investing in ecofriendly cars is not a downgrade, but in fact, an upgrade.”

Electric cars have come a long way in recent years. Once considered a non-viable alternative to fossil-fuelled vehicles, eco-friendly cars, such as electric and hybrids, have been storming the car market over the last two years. And according to the latest figures, electric cars now represent around 1.3% of the total new car market in the UK, with around 67,000 plug-in cars on UK roads.

The annual Driver Power survey – now in its 15th year – covers the issues that really matter to motorists. Rating their vehicles over ten categories including reliability, practicality, running costs and in-car tech, the survey received nearly 50,000 responses, with a total of 32 makes and 150 models ranked.
