You may have seen our little list of some electric cars coming this year, but we thought we should get more specific. So, this page is dedicated to every electric car that comes out this month. We’ll be updating this list at the start of each month or when a new electric car drops. So, if you’re wondering why January is way down at the bottom, that’s why! Hope to see you back here soon!
Car specs have been sourced from a range of sites, notably EV Database.
I know what you’re thinking, “another ID model already?” and in fairness, there does seem to be a lot of them. But isn’t that a good thing? The more variety the better! Speaking of variety, there are 3 ID.5 versions, the ID.5 GTX, the ID.5 Pro and the ID.5 Pro Performance. They are very similar in looks and all come with a 77kWh battery. However, the price and performance are where everything changes.
The cheapest of the models is the ID.5 Pro. This model costs £42,000 and has a range of 265 miles. It has a 0-62mph of 10.4 seconds and a top speed of 99mph.
Up next is the ID.5 Pro Performance, coming in with a £44,000 price tag. This model also has 265 miles range but it has an acceleration from 0-62mph of 8.4 seconds; slightly quicker than the ID.5 Pro, however, it has the same top range of 99mph.
The daddy of the three models is the ID.5 GTX. This model costs £51,000 and surprisingly has a lower range of 255 miles. However, this model excels in performance with an acceleration of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 112mph.
These models are all available… to pre-order. They are expected to be ready to go in March 2022. Better get saving fast! Or, keep us on your radar, we might have these on our scheme in the near future!
The BMW iX xDrive is powered by 5th generation BMW eDrive technology. It is a Sports Activity Vehicle that features an all-wheel-drive system and comes in 2 models. The BMW iX xDrive 40 is the lower model of the 2 but still chanting a hefty price tag of £69,905. The 40 has a 70kWh battery and a range of 215 miles. It has a 0-62mph acceleration of 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 124mph. How can the 50 beat that?
Well, the BMW iX xDrive 50 has a price tag of £91,905, so it has to be a LOT better. It has a 105.3kWh battery and a range of 315 miles. This model has a 0-62mph of just 4.6 seconds! The acceleration on that is crazy, definitely a close rival to the Tesla! This model also has a top speed of 124mph.
5-seater family car that looks exactly like its non-electric counterpart! This vehicle is front-wheel drive and has a type 2 charge port. It has a 45kWh battery with 125 miles range. It can reach 0-62mph in 11.7 seconds and has a top speed of 84mph. Prices for the Citroen e-Berlingo M start from under £30k at just £29,575.
With the Kia EV6 finally coming out, we can’t wait to get our hands on one to really compare it to our faves… For the Kia EV6, prices start from £40,985 at the lower end. This model has 2 wheel drive (RWD) and a 58kWh battery. It also gives 200 miles range and an acceleration of 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 115mph. Not bad for the lower-end model!
Peugeot is bringing out an electric 7-seater small passenger van, with prices starting from £30,375. The Peugeot e-Rifter looks just like a regular diesel van, the one you’d hire for the airport run. With no noticeable “electric” or “futuristic” features, it sports a 45kWh battery and 120 miles range. It has an 11.7-second acceleration and a top speed of 84mph.
September is looking like an expensive month! With the Audi Q4 e-Tron, prices start from £52,870, with a 250-mile range that does make sense. It sports a 76.6kWh battery, can reach 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 112mph.
This one is definitely on the pricier side of the new electric cars coming in 2021. With the EQS, prices start from £115,000 but it does have a real-world range of 380 miles. At least now people will stop saying electric cars don’t have the range of ICE vehicles! If you have the cash for it…
It has a 0-62mph of 4.3 seconds and its top speed is 130mph, not that you’d ever be going that fast anyway, right?
SsangYong are a South Korean car manufacturing firm who are releasing their first electric vehicle this year! It’s an electrified version of their already existing Korando compact SUV. The Korando e-Motion will be facing off with the MG ZS EV, which means it will most likely have a price tag of under £30,000. The brand promised a battery with a 61.5kWh capacity, hopefully giving 260 miles range. However, official certification in Korea states that the range is only 190 miles.
European deliveries for this EV are happening now, but we can expect to see them on our UK roads by the end of the year!
