A thriving East Midlands-based fleet management company, is doing its bit for the environment, by helping drivers to select fuel-efficient cars.
Fleet Evolution, based in Derby, says drivers are now looking at ways to cut-costs and help the environment by lowering CO2 emissions.
In its latest move, Fleet Evolution is displaying the miles per gallon (mpg) of a vehicle, to offer drivers a more fuel-efficient alternative.
The company is now introducing such schemes into businesses with as few as 50 and as many as 3,000 employees.
Andrew Leech, Managing Director of Fleet Evolution, said there was now greater awareness from companies who want to benefit from a more fuel-efficient vehicle and protect the environment at the same time.
He said: “We have responded to customer demand by now including displayed mpg figures, and an expected monthly fuel expense when employees order a salary sacrifice car.
“We were already seeing CO2 reductions of a third, when compared to the older vehicles, but customers are now prioritising fuel costs on the same level as the make and model of a car when selecting a new vehicle. This is great news for both employee and employer, as the savings for both are maximised when a more fuel-efficient, lower emitting vehicle is chosen.”
Although traditional lease cars are still the core of the business, salary sacrifice has seen tremendous growth and is set to stay for the rest of 2011 and beyond.
