What Do Kids Really Want for Christmas?

Every Christmas there is a trend. That must-have gift that kids demand, sending parents into a tailspin. What do kids want for Christmas?

Well, 90s parents would have had the mad rush for Ninja Turtles. Or maybe even the “Turbo Man” doll (for those confused, watch Crimbo Classic “Jingle all the Way”). Even myself a few years ago with some darn “Puppy Surprise”, my daughter just had to have the elusive dalmatian one. It’s not like we have a real one at home or anything… Rest assured that half our kids will be demanding something we simply can’t deliver without significant cash and time investments. Is this year any different?

2020 has its Hot Gifts

This is true, but maybe you want to appeal to all kids across gender and age gaps? Somehow, there is one universal item that over almost 70% of our mini-me’s want. For once it’s a gift that’s will actually save you time and money!

Whether it’s Greta on TV or Sophia at my breakfast table, virtually all kids spend more time nowadays worrying about the environment than anything else. Get them something they really want this Christmas, an electric car!

They can’t drive them yet, obviously

Though, electric cars really are child’s play. Plug-in overnight then drive to your heart’s content! Or until you run your electricity out. For around only £5 of electricity per 200 miles, they will actually save you money, and I haven’t even mentioned time! No more petrol station trips, no more de-icing windscreens (unless you’re just using the app for your EV to deice from the comfort of your bed)! Most important of all, no more pollution!

Kids of today realise what we don’t: we cannot take our planet for granted. They want you to do something about it! Realistically, it’s probably not on their list to Santa, but that’s because kids are smart. They know Santa’s not a car salesman (or gives out fish or horses, as I have told my kids over the years). In all honesty, I don’t know how they would react if you were to buy them one yourself. Maybe we should all make a resolution to take a serious look at electric cars for 2021. If you do go electric via salary sacrifice, not only will a fat, ageing guy who likes mince pies (me) arrange this for you, but you’ll save money as well as the planet!
