Apprentice Success for Eco-Friendly Electric Vehicle Provider

Feelgood employment stories hard to come by since COVID-19 took its toll on workforces across the UK. The announcement of a record apprenticeship intake from Midlands-based flexible benefits and fleet specialist is hugely encouraging. Fleet Evolution launched its apprenticeship scheme in 2013 with 20 young people graduating to date and apprentice success from the beginning! It has just completed a record intake of six new apprentices aged 16-24! They’re truly reaffirming their commitment to developing the skills of local youngsters keen to get a foot in the door!

The latest apprenticeship roles cover a broad range of skillsets, including recruitment of two digital marketing positions, whereby apprentices will be tasked with spreading the word about the benefits of electric cars online, two customer service roles to support employees taking up the scheme, and two business admin apprentices to help with any queries once the scheme is set up. Helping lead the way when it comes to the UK target of net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2050, Fleet Evolution work alongside HR teams to find benefit schemes that work towards improving employee satisfaction and retention.

Meet the Apprentices!

Proud graduates of Fleet Evolution’s apprenticeship scheme from previous intakes include Charlotte Brookes; Charlotte joined at the very start of the scheme and has since moved up the ranks. She currently works within the firm’s Driverline team, managing orders, dealing with partners, and liaising with suppliers.

“Before starting my apprenticeship with Fleet Evolution, I had more part-time and temporary jobs than I could keep track of! I needed a company that would invest in me and help me develop. Luckily, Fleet Evolution came along and supported me in two different apprenticeships, and I have been with the company just over eight years,” said Ms Brookes.

Matt Dyer, an Operations Team graduate, said “I came from a background of little to no previous experience. Not only do I feel as though I have developed my career, but I have also had some wonderful times and amazing memories with the company over the years.”

Charlotte Matthews, who joined in 2019 as a marketing apprentice is another apprenticeship success story. Charlotte heads Fleet Evolution’s marketing team. She will mentor and train the two new marketing apprentices joining the team this month.

She said, “My apprenticeship with Fleet Evolution and Baltic helped me grow my skills and knowledge of the field and come out of my shell. I’m now going on to do a level 4 with Baltic because I enjoyed it so much!”

Fleet Evolution’s new recruits have already begun their on the job training, working closely with existing team members and clients.

Managing director Andrew Leech said, “We are hugely proud of our apprenticeship scheme. We have been able to ramp it up this year to offer more opportunities than ever before, which is amazing.”
