The Munro MK_1 is an all-terrain, all-electric off-roader that is certainly making a statement in the electric vehicle space. What’s so special about this EV off-roader? Well, just that! Let’s get into the Munro MK1.
They’re currently being made at the Munro HQ in East Kilbride, Scotland, with plans to deliver 50 vehicles made in 2023. They have much bigger plans for the future, though! 2024 includes moving to a new site, creating 300 more jobs, and ramping up production to 250 vehicles a year. Their long-term goal is to deliver 2,500 units annually by 2027 – and we’re all for that!
Sadly, they’re not available on our salary sacrifice scheme yet as there aren’t too many around, but we have a whole raft of other great electric vehicles available for up to 40% less than retail – not to mention the tax savings on top. Raptor Paint Protection
Ever heard of Raptor Paint Protection? We hadn’t either, turns out it’s practically indestructible! The Munro MK_1 comes with U-POL Raptor paint as standard; it can stand basically anything you throw at it and little blemishes won’t show, so it’s perfect for off-roading or on a worksite and will still look brand new after abusing it!
Who Else to Watch For?
We’re thinking of another electric off-roader we were expecting some time ago, but hmm it’s still not here… Of course, we mean the Rivian, which the Munro MK_1 will rival, and has essentially already won the race by being available!
Top Gear stated, “The Munro MK_1 is a £60k all-electric Defender rival.” If that isn’t some considerable praise for this Scottish motor, we don’t know what is.
