New Electric Cars in March

Seeing as February was a bit of a dud for new electric cars hitting the market, we’ve got a doozy for March! Let’s get right into what we can expect to see from the new electric cars in March.

Audi SQ8 e-tron

From £98,295 the Audi SQ8 e-Tron boasts EV SUV power as we’ve never seen before. With 275 miles range and a 0-62 mph of 4.5 seconds, it’s safe to say it can move well for a big car. Its top speed is 130 mph – so it’s definitely quick enough! This will also come in a sport back version (from £100,795), which will offer an even better spec, sportier looks, and an additional 15 miles range.

Up next, we all thought we’d seen the last of them – nope! The Smart car is back with a vengeance. We know it for its quirky 2-or-4 seat feature, but it seems Smart has given their cars a glow-up.

Smart #1

Welcome to the Smart family, let’s start with Smart #1. Ah yes, the exclusive launch model with only 1,000 vehicles available; sounds familiar… Fisker Ocean One, anyone? From £35,000, the Smart #1 sports a 0-62mpg in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 112mph. Not bad stats, it’s a great runaround with a reported range of 260 miles – you’d never get range anxiety on your commute with this puppy.

There are also Pro+ and Premium models of the Smart #1, with slightly higher specs, check them out here on the Smart website. These electric vehicles are available to order in March, with deliveries expected between September and December.

Skoda Enyaq Coupe

The Skoda Enyaq is back, and this time it’s the iv family. First up, we have the iv60; starting from £40,000 with a range of 205 miles and a 0-62mph of 8.8 seconds. Next is the iv80 starting from £45,000 with a range of 275 miles and a 0-62mph of 8.7 seconds; very similar specs to the iv60 but with a little range bump. Lastly, we have the iv80x, which has a price tag of £52,000 and a range of 265 miles, with 0-62mph in 7 seconds. A respectable performance from this family, all sharing a top speed of 99mph.

Vauxhall Astra Electric

Electric car number 4. Wow, there are loads of new EVs coming out this month, we’re spoilt for choice! Car 4 is the Vauxhall Astra Electric, with a pretty price tag of £36,000, 0-63mph in 8.5 seconds, a top speed of 106mph, and 190 miles range. The Astra comes in another model the Sports Tourer, which has the same spec but costs £37,000 and has 187 miles range. You can order them now and expect them for delivery in September!

Lexus RZ 450e

Up next we have the Lexus RZ 450e, with a price of £62,600 and an alleged 250 miles range; we should hope you’re getting at least that with that price tag! The RZ also has a top speed of 99mph and a 0-62mph of 5.6 seconds. You can order them from March, and you can find out more about them on Lexus’ website.

To finish up the list of electric cars coming in March, we wanted to end on a high… a high price tag that is!

Lotus Eletre & Lotus Eletre R

There are 2 models of this car, the Lotus Eletre and the Lotus Eletre R. The first parades a price tag of £89,000 with an impressive range of 320 miles and a top speed of 155mph. Its 0-62mph is 4.5 seconds, being beaten out by the Eletre R with just 2.9 seconds. The R also sports a top speed of 162mph, a range of 280 miles, and a price tag of £120,000 – ouch! You can order the Eletre in March, with deliveries expected in September.

Mercedes EQS SUV 450 and 580 4Matic

Last on the list (and the most expensive) is the Mercedes EQS SUV (450 and 580 4MATIC). Both models have similar specs, with both having a top speed of 130mph and 300 miles range. However, they differ in price and acceleration; the 450 comes in at £129,000 and a 0-62mph of 6s, whereas the 580 costs £139,000 and has a 0-62mph of 4.6s.
