Cupra Tavascan: Cupra’s First Electric SUV

The Cupra Tavascan is Cupra’s first all-electric SUV, but why Tavascan? Seems a random name, since Tavascan is a village in Catalonia, Spain. Well, look no further for the answer: Cupra Racing headquarters is in Catalonia, so that’s that mystery solved. Now that we’ve uncovered the mysteries of the universe, let’s get into the all-new, all-electric Cupra Tavascan SUV.

Cupra Tavascan: Speed, Range, and Charging

The Cupra Tavascan is a 4-wheel drive car with a 0-62mph of just 6.8 seconds. Sure, it’s not the quickest, but it’s an SUV- and remember, not every electric car needs to be the fastest! The Tavascan has an electric range of up to 339 miles and can charge to 62 miles range in just 7 minutes, or 3 hours 40 minutes for a full charge. However, charging times do vary as with any EV based on external and battery temperature, maximum charger system voltage, battery condition, and use of other electrical equipment in the car.

My Cupra

You also gain access to the My Cupra app. All electric cars come with their own special app now, it’s pretty much the standard. It gives you greater access to your car and lets you control it from anywhere. Say goodbye to cold mornings spent deicing your car, you can turn it on and sort the settings to do this while you’re in the comfort of your bed. Save your range AND yourself from the cold!

Cupra Tavascan VZ and Cupra Tavascan Endurance

There is a second and third model in the Tavascan family, the Tavascan VZ and the Tavascan Endurance.

The VZ is more powerful (0-62mph in 5.6 seconds), has less range (321 miles), and has the same features as listed above – except it comes with 21″ alloy wheels. It also has a price tag of £55,000. We’re not exactly sure if there’s more to come with the VZ, but we’re excited to find out more as it gets closer to hitting the market.

The Endurance has a range of 280 miles, a top speed of 112mph, and a price tag of £50,000. It seems to have the slowest acceleration of 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds, with 19″ alloy wheels as standard (with 20″ and 21″ available as options).

When Will We Meet the Cupra Tavascan?

The Tavascan should hit the UK market in 2024 and it’s predicted to rival the Volkswagen ID.5, Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and the new Polestar 4. It has been estimated to be in the price range of around £50,000 – so we predict this SUV will cost around £700/month on our salary sacrifice scheme, all-in; that means your insurance, maintenance, breakdown, tyres, and much more is included in your monthly cost. Well, except for the charge of course! Find out more about salary sacrifice here and see how it can benefit you, your business, and your employees. It’s free and simple to implement with minimal admin and risk, so why not?
