Electric Cars Releasing in September

This summer has been a quiet one for new electric releases, but we’re back with a bang for September EVs. However, before we get into the September releases, we wanted to mention the few releases through the summer of 2023.

Summer Releases

Jeep Avenger Electric – Up first on the list, we’ll keep it short and sweet, it’s the Jeep Avenger Electric. We’ve got a whole blog on the Avenger family – check it out here.

Vauxhall Astra Electric – Next is the Vauxhall Astra Electric with a price tag from just under £40,000 and 190 miles range. It has a top speed of 1-6mph and a 0-62mph of 8.5 seconds. It has been available to order since June, with deliveries expected from October.

Peugeot e-2008 – The Peugeot e-2008 is back. With a price tag starting at £36,350, it has an electric range of 185 miles, a 0-62mph of 9.1 seconds, and a top speed of 93mph. It’s a pretty standard car, perfect for day-to-day life; whether you’re commuting, doing the school run, doing the weekly shop, or just running errands. It’s available to order now and we have an estimated lead time of around 6 months.

Peugeot e-308 and e-308 SW – That’s right, another Peugeot drop was expected in August but hasn’t been released yet; this time, it’s the e-308. It has a starting price of £37,000 and 185 miles range, with a top speed of 106mph and a 0-62mph of 9.8s. The e-308 SW was also expected to launch in August, but no word just yet. It costs £1,000 more than the standard model but has all the same stats.

Vauxhall Corsa Electric 51kWh – The all-new Vauxhall Corsa dropped in July, coming in at £35,475, replacing the old version (RIP). It has a range of 195 miles, a top speed of 93mph, and an acceleration of 8.1s. There is also a 50kWh version, which is slightly cheaper and has slightly lower spec (£32,445, 180 miles range, 8.7s acceleration) and is expected from August.

Right, let’s get back to the September releases.

Kia EV9 and GT

It’s our favourite box on wheels, the Kia EV9! 2 models are releasing in September, the standard RWD, and the GT-Line AWD – both with a 95kWh useable battery. The standard has a price tag of £64,995, 275 miles range, 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds, and a top speed of 115mph. The GT model has a price tag of £73,245, 255 miles, 124mph top speed, and 0-62mph in 5.3s.

Lotus Eletre and Eletre R

We’ve been watching the Lotus Eletre for some time and the release date just keeps being pushed back – it’s now saying September, so we’ll see! Check out our blog about the Lotus Eletre here for more info.

BMW iX1 eDrive 20

That’s right, another BMW SUV – how many more do we need? Nonetheless, the iX1 eDrive 20 hit the market with a price of £44,560 and a range of 235 miles – not bad so far. It’s also got a 0-62mph of 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 106mph.

MG4 EV XPower

Up next is our favourite affordable electric car, the MG4, but it’s had an upgrade. The MG4 XPower has a price tag of £36,495 (around £400/month on salary sacrifice) and a 200-mile range. It also has an upgraded acceleration of 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 124mph. This was expected to be released in September, but actually dropped in August – what a treat! The MG4 Extended Range model was also released in August, with a range of 265 miles and a price tag of £36,496.

Fiat 600e

Last on the September release list is the Fiat 600e – some of us at Fleet hadn’t heard of or expected a Fiat 600, has an eerie ring to it really. Remember the Fiat 500L? It’s the bigger version of the Fiat 500; the 600e looks like that but cuter, and is an EV after all (so therefore, much better). It has a price tag of just £31,000 and a range of 190 miles. It has the usual top speed of 93mph and acceleration to 62mph in 9 seconds. All in all, doesn’t seem like a bad runaround. The Fiat 500e is quite nippy, so this might be a pleasant surprise to drive!
